Arts Matrix are running two courses in Bristol: ‘Getting your music out there in the Digital Age’ and ‘Making A Living From Music’.
GETTING YOUR MUSIC OUT THERE IN THE DIGITAL AGE -COST: £25.00 inc. VAT

A one day course with Blues Musician Eddie Martin that will introduce you to DIY marketing and how you can sell your tracks in the digital age. This course includes using Myspace as a business tool rather than a social pastime, how to construct a digital press kit and how to choose and set up the right distribution option. Other topics covered will be selling songs/tracks online, how to register your work with the collection societies and how to record and edit high quality mp’3’s. Please bring along publicity photos and audio for this hands on session. A must do course for anyone looking to develop their professional music skills.
MAKING A LIVING FROM MUSIC COST: £25.00 inc. VAT

This music course is for anyone looking to make a living from music. Potential pop stars and future music moguls are invited to come along and pick up some comprehensive and expert help on the ins and outs of the music industry. The course is being run by internationally renowned Blues musician/songwriter and proprietor of Blueblood records Eddie Martin and Alan Eden, a professional drummer and freelance business advisor to music and creative industries. The course is aimed at creative souls, management and other support services and will address a broad range of issues including income opportunities, DIY management, copyright and royalties, setting up legally, e-marketing and the impact of the digital age.
