Led by 8 current music organisations in France, Belgium and England, the IC Music project (International Cooperation Through Music) will be literally crossing the borders with music throughout 2012, 2013 and 2014.
This project will be promoting opportunities for music artists from the 3 countries to perform and work across the borders, promoting cultural links and enriching the musical horizons for everyone! The project aims to construct a sustainable and long-lasting cross border cooperation between professional “live” music partners within England, Belgium and France and already has a line-up of 12 cross border artists that are at the furthest remove from being clichéd or plebeian in their art.
Exeter Phoenix, the site for the Exeter branch of BMF, are one of the two UK partners and will be hosting a series of shows in the coming months. The other UK partner, Superact!, provide valuable training for the musicians to deliver workshops in challenging environments, which helps to broaden the different areas where musicians can bring in revenue.
Each year the project will showcase and tour a fresh selection of bands, ensuring that over the three year period of the project the largest number of artists possible have the opportunity to experience touring.
