I have taught and coached both professional opera singers and pop/indie recording artists who have performed at prestigious venues around the world including at the Glastonbury festival. Pupils have successfully been accepted to music colleges in the UK, Canada and New Zealand. I teach a lot of actors, professional singers wanting help with technical difficulties, Pop/Rock soloists and backing singers who want to work on their breathing, vocal range and on improving their vocal health. I specialise in helping absolute beginners with vocal problems to discover their voice and enjoy using it.

I am a professional opera singer who has been teaching singing since 2000 in New Zealand and the UK. I currently perform with opera companies who tour around the UK, and teach in both Bristol and London.

I specialize in helping people who have never been able to sing or cannot sing in tune and would like to find out how. Some people have a natural ability, but everyone else can learn to sing by having lessons. People who sing naturally also benefit from understanding how their voice works so that it is used to their best ability and stays healthy for life.
I am always happy to explore different types of music with pupils – for example, if you have never tried singing classical music, pop music or folk song but would like to, go for it!
I teach vocal technique based on classical bel canto which is modified according to the style of music you prefer to sing. I am a teacher who listens to your own unique voice and works out what suits you best.
I can help you to learn to read music if you are interested, work on the entire body posture and help pupils with performance technique.
Lessons are accompanied by me on the piano. I also have a Roland Mobilecube for those wishing to work on using a microphone, accompany themselves on guitar, or use an Ipod to play backing tracks.

My Bristol studio is five minutes walk from Lawrence Hill Station, which is one stop from Bristol Temple Meads Station. There are also various regular bus routes from the city centre.
