Different Strings is an artist booking agency, representing a select group of talented singer, songwriters and acoustic musicians from the UK, Europe, USA and Canada.

I graduated from university with a degree in geography never really knowing what I would do with it; though it’s coming in very useful now I’m planning tours around the UK! My first job was in local government publicity and events; followed by a time in sponsorship and marketing at South West Arts but, the largest part of my working life was running The Albert Inn, in Bristol with my partner Ian. For 21 years, we organised an internationally renowned music venue there; a twice-weekly programme hosting the top jazz and folk acts from all over the world. When we moved on a few years ago, I was keen to maintain those musical connections and Different Strings began.

Above all Different Strings aims to provide a professional, efficient, supportive and friendly service, taking into consideration the requirements of promoters and performers alike. Having been involved in event coordination and running a business I’ve gained an understanding of what’s involved in organising a successful show and how important it is to build and maintain relationships. Different Strings now boasts a roster of artists who are without exception musicians of the highest calibre and great people to work with.
