“Bristol-based producer and artist Catraz has found favour among the night-time Radio One cognoscenti and here you’ll see why. Inspired samples fronted by rhymes that come on like Eminem meets The Streets. How can you go wrong?” – Former NME and Rolling Stone journalist Neil Mason.
“He’s my top tip for the week! I love this guy, he represents Bristol, he also loves pop music and on top of that he is just a really great rapper!” – BBC Radio 1’s Bobby Friction
Recently featured and interviewed on BBC radio shows including Steve Lamacq, Colin Murray, Nihal, Veena V and with growing support from various online and local stations such as BBC Radio Bristol, Phats Beats, Pulse Radio, Select Radio and Star Radio, Bristol.
Catraz, real name Alex Lucas, bursts on to the scene with his medley of originally composed and sampled tracks topped with infectious and head nodding hooks.
His music, which is inspired by an array of artists from Kool G Rap, The Clash right through to the Gypsy Kings, is refreshingly simple and home grown although Catraz prefers to leave his sound definition to the listener.
Catraz plans to make his own unique mark on the UK music scene, and we know it’s going to be a big one!
Catraz has recently signed to Mustard Music Publishers. Mustard are run by Rob Roar, who also runs Pheonetic Recordings (top five biggest dance/house labels in world)! He will begin working on a new project with accomplished producer Julian Napolitano (Ruff Loaderz) who has worked with the likes of Britney Spears, Naughty by Nature, Kanye West, Amy Winehouse, Rianna, Robbie Williams, Robyn and The Ting Tings!
