&lt;p&gt;The Bhangra Symposium and panel discussion, aimed at arts and cultural professionals as well as general public, will critically explore bhangra culture, its history and current position in the UK. The panel will include bhangra artists, media professionals, producers and promoters working in the bhangra scene. The seminar will consist of a series of presentations, debates, a short film screening, a Q&amp;amp;A session and some live bhangra music.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;DJ Ritu&lt;br /&gt;
One of the UK&amp;#8217;s best known Asian music DJs and has presented shows on Radio 3, &lt;span class=&quot;caps&quot;&gt;BBC&lt;/span&gt; Asian Network, &lt;span class=&quot;caps&quot;&gt;BBC&lt;/span&gt; World Service, &lt;span class=&quot;caps&quot;&gt;KISS&lt;/span&gt; FM and Club Asia. In 1994 she founded Outcaste Records and signed Nitin Sawney and Badmarsh &amp;amp; Shri. DJ Ritu has also compiled a series of Rough Guide albums including The Rough Guide to Bhangra and The Rough Guide to Bhangra Dance.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Mark Strippel&lt;br /&gt;
Mark has been &lt;span class=&quot;caps&quot;&gt;BBC&lt;/span&gt; Asian Network&amp;#8217;s Head of Music since 2006. He&amp;#8217;s also a former member of Punjabi Hit Squad (aka Markie Mark) who produced music for Mariah Carey, Bobby Valentino and Sway. Mark presents Desi Beats on 1Xtra and Breakdown on Asian Network.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Kuljit Bhamra&lt;br /&gt;
Kuljit is a highly influential musician and composer and has produced over 2000 songs. He&amp;#8217;s worked on numerous film scores including Bend it Like Beckham, Bhaji on the Beach, Indiana Jones &amp;amp; The Temple of Doom and Charlie &amp;amp; the Chocolate Factory and is now Artistic Director of the Society for Promoting New Music (&lt;span class=&quot;caps&quot;&gt;SPNM&lt;/span&gt;).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Jaswinder Singh&lt;br /&gt;
Jaswinder is Director of Asian Arts Agency who recently developed and produced The Bhangra Project; the biggest ever celebration of bhangra in the South West. He is also founder of Simply Bhangra, a bhangra development agency and online resource.&lt;/p&gt;
