New for 2010, the Music Industry Marquee is a trade show style tent in a free area of the festival right by the main entrance. Open to the public as well as industry it offers opportunities for networking as well as featuring stands from organisations involved in various aspects of the music industry, including tuition, record labels and shops, printing and design services, promotion, practitioners, instrument supplies, studios and so on.

There will also be a number of free hands-on music workshops and talks from leading industry professional aimed at established performers to bedroom musicians from across the region.

Day 2 line-up:

13:00 The Demo Panel – bring your music along for professional feedback. The chance to have your music played in front of a panel industry experts willing to offer advice and receive your pitch

14:30 Publishing and Copyright. What is publishing? What are mechanical rights. How do I earn from them?
Speakers include Barney Hooper from the PRS.

16:30 The 21st Century Record Deal. What future is there in major label deals and can I set up my own indie, and how? Speakers include: Luke Allen (label Manager HDM Group), Sean Holbrook (Run Boy Run Label Management)

The Music Industry Marquee offers a great chance for aspiring musicians, music business professionals and practicing musicians to network, get information and advice, and develop new relationships. All talks and workshops are free so bring along your music and find out more.
