New for 2010, the Music Industry Marquee is a trade show style tent in a free area of the festival right by the main entrance. Open to the public as well as industry it offers opportunities for networking as well as featuring stands from organisations involved in various aspects of the music industry, including tuition, record labels and shops, printing and design services, promotion, practitioners, instrument supplies, studios and so on.

There will also be a number of free hands-on music workshops and talks from leading industry professional aimed at established performers to bedroom musicians from across the region.

Day 1 line-up:

13:00 The Demo Panel – bring your music along for professional feedback. The chance to have your music played in front of a panel industry experts willing to offer advice and receive your pitch.
Panel: Sean Holbrook (Run Boy Run Label Management), Matt Booth (Bristol Music Foundation, SXSW), Mike Smith, Steve Satterthwaite (HDM Group)

14:30 What’s the Best Way to Approach Promoters? Panel featuring Managers and Promoters giving advice on how to get those all important first gigs.
Speakers: Collin Mitchell (Glastonbury & Glade Festivals), Leon Alexander (HDM Group), Sean Holbrook (Run Boy Run Label Management), Steve Satterthwaite (HDM Group)

16:30 Press PR and Marketing. How best to market yourself. Learn how to use Social Networking, The internet and marketing skills to best develop your Music Persona.
Speakers: Roz Mansfield Atlantic Records/Warners, Eva Greene Head of Digital HDM Group, Stacey Tang (Marketing Manager Atlantic/Warners), Dan Cole (Merchandise Manager Beatport ), Matt Brown (Online PR, Stay Loose)

The Music Industry Marquee offers a great chance for aspiring musicians, music business professionals and practicing musicians to network, get information and advice, and develop new relationships. All talks and workshops are free so bring along your music and find out more.
