Creative Music Technology - Foundation Course pt. 3
10.00AM - 05:00PM | £195.00
Exeter Phoenix Media Centre
Sound Gallery Studios are launching brand new Creative Music Technology course that will equip you with the skills and the know-how, as well as demystifying the hardware and software required to create and produce music at home. The 3 week foundation course will cover basic recording, sequencing, sampling and synthesis, using a range of music software platforms (Reason, Logic 8 and Garageband).
The course will start on Saturday 24th April at the Exeter Phoenix Media Centre and will be lead by Paul Johnstone.
The course will enable you to create and produce music on a computer and will provide you with the necessary information and guidance to be able to create your own home setup and to use current music technology software.
By the end of the course participants will be familiar with the key features of modern DAW software, using Garageband, Logic Pro and Reason. You’ll understand how to record, import, edit, manipulate and export audio as well as how to record, sequence and edit MIDI. The course will introduce you to the basic practices of sampling and synthesis and will encourage you to use this knowledge to create your own work.
As well as all of this the course will introduce you to understanding the key components of a basic home computer music setup and key factors to consider when selecting equipment.
Due to popular demand and limited space (only 3-5 participants on each course), early booking is strongly recommended. Places are allocated on a first come-first served basis.
Contact Maria Peters (tel: 01392 495301 or email:marketing@sound-gallery.net) to book a place on the course. You’ll need to request an enrolment and a consent form (if applicable) and return it to us completed with a cheque of the full amount payable to Sound Gallery CIC (Sound Gallery Studios, Exeter Phoenix, Bradninch Place, Gandy street, Exeter EX4 3LS).
For all further details on this and similar courses go to the Sound Gallery website.
