PRS Foundation in Bristol
02.00PM - 05:00PM |
Hamilton House
The PRS Foundation for New Music (PRSF) is a refreshingly approachable and adventurous funding body. As the UK’s only independent funder of new music across all genres, the Foundation supports a huge range of new music activity – everything from unsigned band showcases to residencies for music creators, from ground-breaking commissions to live electronica.
PRS Foundation are visiting the South West in September and stopping in Bristol and Plymouth.
Both events are free.
The PRS Foundation main aims are to stimulate and support the creation and performance of new music in the UK, ensuring this reaches a wide audience. In addition, it motivates public debate about creative music-making in the UK, for example through ground-breaking projects such as the New Music Award.
PRSF promotes activity at the cutting edge of new music, encouraging the development of music in the UK. This is achieved through its own funding schemes and partnerships with other organisations.
The Foundation is widely respected as an approachable, adventurous, and straightforward organisation. It has already established a track record of funding a broad range of activity, from unsigned band showcases to composer residencies and from commissions for new music to experimental live electronica. PRSF support is seen by the music community as an indication of quality and innovation.
We will be welcoming the PRS Foundation to the new Hamilton House creative co-op at 80 Stokes Croft, Bristol on 28th September.
The event is free and runs from 2pm til 5pm.
You must book to reserve a place (see below).
Come early and enjoy lunch at ‘Canteen’ at Hamilton House, and stay on after the event for some food and live music.
To book simply email events@bristolmusicfoundation.com if you are a member and have your profile up, or go to www.bristolmusicfoundation.com/downloads and download a booking form.
This is an essential event for anyone wanting to learn about funding opportunities with the main bespoke funder for music activity in the UK.

See you there!
