Bristol Folk Festival - Tickets to give away!
Bristol Folk Festival Returns!
This May Bank Holiday, from Saturday 5 to Monday 7 May, sees the return of Bristol Folk Festival to the Colston Hall. Having waited 32 years for it’s comeback last year, it is soon to be back with a bang. It is a family friendly festival where you can expect to see the Colston Hall transformed into a bustling centre of concerts, ceilidhs, workshops, sessions and impromptu jams.
With ample places to eat, relax and shop in the three floor, free market place and it doesn’t matter if the sun isn’t shining because its all indoors, with posh loos! Thrown into the mix are a wide range of artists from folk headliners to local acts, alongside poetry, storytelling, morris dancers and mummers.
Last year’s festival fielded some of the biggest names in folk as its headliners, drawing around 2,000 people from all over the South West to as far afield as Scotland. This year you can expect to see an incredible line-up; here are just some of the artists performing: Show of Hands, Karine Polwart, Cara Dillon, Afro Celt Sound System, Lucy Ward, 3 Daft Monkeys and many, many more. This year the Bristol O2 Academy is being welcomed into the fold as they host the brilliant Newton Faulkner.
And to add to their accolades, The Guardian has listed Bristol Folk Festival as one of their Top 10 UK Quirky Festivals, the full article can be seen here.
