Quebe Sisters Band head home after successful tour
A small indulgence this from BMF towers.
In March 2008 we saw the Quebe Sisters Band play in Austin, Texas as part of SXSW. They were very good. So good in fact we thought it an idea to get them over for their first visit and see if we couldn’t hook them up with some local musicians and businesses and make plans for strengthening the network back over the pond.
What started as a few pub shows turned into a very successful two-week tour with 4 shows at Cambridge Folk Festival which saw them greeted by Radio 2’s Mark Radcliffe as ‘the’ breakthrough act of Cambridge 2010.

Their CD was reissued over here in time for their tour by a Bristol based company, designed by a designer in Exeter, and manufactured by a CD company in Plymouth. Their tour was managed by a TM from Plymouth and they were supported by the very fine young duo from Devon, The Carrivick Sisters. Oh and they played in the BMF Chair’s garden during Sidmouth Folk Week in front of the great and good from the world of folk and the SW music biz.
And each show sold out. They will be back soon..
