Last week saw the launch of Music Matters, a campaign aimed at getting value back into music.
“Music Matters is a collective effort by artists and all those who work in and around music to remind listeners of its enduring value”
The campaign has two main elements. Firstly, a number of short films have been made focussing on artists such as Sigur Ros, Nick Cave, The Jam, Kate Bush, and what it is that inspired these to make music. You can watch all the videos here
The second element of the campaign is the Music Matters badge
which will now be displayed on including Spotify, We7, Napster, Myspace Music, and many, many more legal sites. This will make it easier to determine whether or not a site is providing legal downloads. If you’re interested in obtaining the Music Matters badge for your site, click here
For more information about the campaign and the extensive list of sites supporting the badge, visit the official website: whymusicmatters.org
