South West at Great Escape 09 - full line-up, party, gifts...

The BMF will be at the Great Escape 09 from 14th to 16th May.
We will be hosting our own mini-convention within the main event at the Thistle Hotel on Thurs 14th May with speakers from the South West, plus national friends and partners, and we will close with a BMF Party on the Library Terrace from 6 til 7.30pm.
Our event kicks off at 10.30am on Thurs 14th May with a keynote speech from Chris Morrison who will discuss his varied and incredible career in artist management with Thin Lizzy, Ultravox, the Jesus and Mary Chain, Blur, Gorillaz, Grace Jones and many more and look ahead to how managers need to embrace an uncertain but exciting and demanding future for their artists.
Join Indie Mobile, Hope Music Group, Wittdo, the finest Dubstep producers from Bristol, and some of our key people making things happen in the South West plus:
Nick Williams from the BRIT School will chair a session with music educators from Bristol and Gloucester on how we prepare young people for a future in music, harness and properly develop talent for a life-long career, empower young people with limited opportunities through music, and engage an mp3 generation.
Alison Tickell will provide an update on the work of Julie’s Bicycle, how to get the IG mark, and the newly published Green Manual.
Korda Marshall will open the afternoon session with a keynote speech that will look at his background in music, signing Devon band Muse, and his future with his newly reformed label Infectious.
Korda will then be joined by Chris Morrison in a groundbreaking discussion on the challenges faced by leading label bosses and artist managers in the current and future music industry.
And we will round up with an open discussion with figures from industry, and government sector from the South West, London and elsewhere.
Join us!
The party will follow from 6 til 7.30pm on the Library Terrace in the Thistle Hotel with live music from the Volt and very special guests, announcements, prizes, presents and the spreading of South West love generally.
